How to choose hosting for your business website

Give your business website the right foundation. Choose hosting around the customers you want to serve, the content you want to publish and the shop you want to run. This guide helps you compare the full cost, backups and support before choosing your plan.

01 — Your platform sets the requirements

A website builder usually includes hosting. A WordPress website needs a compatible hosting environment, while a custom application may need a different runtime or deployment service. Buying a hosting package before deciding how the site will work can leave you paying for the wrong infrastructure.

Write down the jobs your website must do: show your services, collect enquiries, publish guides or sell products. A brochure site and a shop with orders, stock updates and payment integrations have different operational needs. Storage alone is not a useful measure of that difference.

Domain registration, DNS, website hosting and business email are separate services, even when a provider sells them together. Studio 0A uses Hostinger as its domain registrar and Cloudflare for the website and DNS.

02 — A backup matters when you can restore it

Check how often backups run, how long they are retained and whether restoration is included or charged separately. Ask if a backup covers both the website files and its database. A downloadable copy under your own control is useful when you need to move or when account access fails.

For a shop, a daily backup can still miss orders placed since the last copy. Decide how much data your business could afford to lose and who would reconcile payments, orders and stock after a restore. Hosting cannot answer that business question for you.

Check who handles security updates, what a support request actually covers and whether a test environment is available before changing a live shop. Managed hosting can reduce some maintenance work; it does not take responsibility for every plugin, integration or piece of custom code.

03 — Compare the bill after the introduction

Compare the total amount due today and the full renewal amount for the same period. Check the minimum term, currency, tax treatment and what happens to bundled services after the first period. An advertised monthly equivalent can require paying several years in advance.

Include the domain, email, paid plugins, maintenance and any migration assistance you actually need. Do not compare one provider's complete setup with another provider's base hosting price. Keep the quote or plan details you used so a future renewal does not become a surprise.

The useful question is whether the package supports your business reliably at a cost you understand. A cheaper plan that creates extra maintenance work may not be the cheaper setup overall.

04 — Hostinger as a concrete example

Hostinger offers managed WordPress hosting. Its product information lists SSL certificates, WordPress migration on request and automatic updates. Backup frequency and other limits differ by plan, so check the actual package rather than assuming every feature applies.

Put a Hostinger plan through the same checklist as any alternative: restoration, renewal, support scope and the ability to take your files and database elsewhere. Migration assistance is useful, but confirm what can be migrated and who checks the finished site.

Product features come from Hostinger’s documentation, checked on 8 October 2026. Use the checklist below to choose the plan for your business.

Questions worth asking

Do I need separate hosting with a website builder?

Hosting is usually included in a builder subscription. Check the specific product and what happens to your website if you stop paying or move to another platform.

Does faster hosting guarantee better Google rankings?

No. Hosting is one part of the technical foundation. Useful content, crawlability and the visitor's experience also matter; a package is not a ranking guarantee.

Can I keep my domain at a different provider?

Yes, domain registration and hosting can be separate. You connect them using DNS. Keep ownership and account access clear, and check any bundled plan conditions.
